Wings Over the Lake

Places to visit during your stay .....

The cabins are located on scenic M-25.  This is the main artery along the eastern side of Michigan's thumb.  North or South of the cabins there are villages large and small to explore.  Use the links to the right to view attractions and calendars of events.

5 miles north of the cabins is Port Sanilac.  We recommend having breakfast at Mary's Diner.  It is located at the four corners of M-25 and M-46 in the village center.  After breakfast, stroll down to the harbor and enjoy the lake.  Port Sanilac is home to Michigan's oldest hardware store and there are many small shops to explore.  Check the Port Sanilac calendar for summer theater times and visit the historical museum buildings.

5 miles south of the cabin you will discover Lexington.  This is a great destination for shopping and dining.  Victorian storefronts have a variety of items for your shopping enjoyment.  After shopping, enjoy a nice dinner and a night at the theater.

Our favorite place to visit in Lexington is the Marketplace on Main.  Here you will find a quaint B&B, excellent antique shopping, beautiful gardens and an ice cream parlor!

If wine is your thing, then you are in luck.  A stones throw from the cabins is the Blue Water Winery and Vineyard.  They are located 3 miles north of the cabins at 7131 Holverson Rd., Carsonville, MI 48419.

Golfers - We have not forgot about you.  The Lakeview Hill Country Club is open to the public.  The have two courses for you to golf your heart out.  They also have dining and a 16 lane bowling alley.

Day-trippers may want to venture to the Frankenmuth area.  This is less than a hour and a half from the cabins.  Here you will find Michigan's "Little Bavaria", Bronner's Christmas Wonderland and the Outlets at Birch Run.  Enjoy a day of summer madness in Frankenmuth then return to the cabins for some R&R.

Don't worry about remembering all of these details.  This information is posted in your cabins guide and as always, if you have questions, just ask us.  It is important to us that you enjoy your visit.
